What Does The Bible Say About A Son Who Disrespects His Mother?

Having a mother is a gift. She is a blessing from God, a never-ending supply of love and comfort for her children. Just as God does for us, her love knows no limits, and even if everything seems to be falling apart, she will still be there to support you, just as the Lord taught us. How should Christians regard their moms? What does the Bible have to say about how mothers should be treated?

In the book of Proverbs, the Bible warns that a person’s life will take a turn for the worse if they dishonor their mother. Their eyes will be pecked out by the ravens that live in the valley, and then the vultures will consume them. They will have a horrible and drawn-out end to their lives.

This demonstrates that those who dishonor their parents will suffer a long and horrible death due to their behavior. Those who break the law will inevitably suffer the consequences of their actions. On the other hand, a blessing has been spoken over those children who show their parents reverence and obedience throughout their lives. The freedom to choose whether to receive a blessing or a curse has been imbued in every child.

The Lord pays attention to each and every tear that a mother sheds as a result of the anguish caused by the disrespect of her child. The Lord hears her screams for help when she is in excruciating pain and will respond to her petitions.

The need to show respect to one’s parents and other authoritative figures, as well as to the Lord Himself, is emphasized throughout the Bible. This is because the Lord values the practice of respect. This is clear based on how it is stated throughout the Bible. The Lord looks down on people who do not respect others, but he commends those who show respect. He favors those who are respectful. The Lord gave His people several commands in the Old Testament, including to show respect to one’s parents and be grateful to them. One of these commands claimed that a person would be granted a longer, happier, and more blessed life if they revered their parents. According to the scripture in Deuteronomy 5:16, He promised His provision and His blessing. In the Book of Exodus 20:12, the same commandment was given again, along with the same promise from God.

This can also be seen as a test of how well you obey. Since the Lord told us to obey our mothers and fathers, we should do as the Lord told us. If we love the Lord, we will do what he tells us to do. This is what obedience means. Our parents are likened to the personification of the Heavenly Father here on earth because that is the order of the Church. Through our mothers’ love, we can feel the love God has for us.

What Is The Reward For Honoring Your Mother And Father?

When you are showered with love—and a sufficient amount of it—from your Heavenly Father, your parents, and others around you, it is only natural for you to respond in kind, thereby filling your life with meaning and a sense of fulfillment. What kind of people, therefore, will those who revere their mothers and fathers in the Lord become? What kind of reward is waiting for them?

The only commandment to which the Lord, our Father, adds a promise is the one that instructs children to honor their mothers and fathers, as well as obey their parents. As it is written in the book of Ephesians, Jesus guaranteed that those children who obey their parents would have a happy life, as well as a long and meaningful one. He also said that they would enjoy good lives.

The Lord mentioned on multiple occasions how important it is for us to respect and honor our parents. A terrible and unpleasant punishment is attached to disobeying one’s parents, but those who honor, obey, and respect their mothers and fathers will obtain a good and long life to enjoy. Disrespecting one’s parents brings about severe and unpleasant punishment. The Lord has provided us with the opportunity to select a path that is most beneficial to us. Would you instead choose death over life, or would you rather live a life that makes the Lord happy with how you’ve lived it?

Solomon included a reminder for every one of us in the book of Proverbs: to heed the instruction of our parents and to pay attention to the counsel of our mothers and fathers. We are instructed to constantly have their words in our hearts, and we are told to wear copies of their words around our necks. Because regardless of the direction we go in, we must follow the counsel they give us. They will watch over us and ensure our safety while we sleep, and then when we wake up, they will provide us with some guidance.

You can read the following Scriptures to be reminded of what awaits those who do and do not honor their parents.

Proverbs 19:26

He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.

Being able to call one’s mother or father is one of life’s most precious gifts. The love she has for the Lord is the source of her love for her family and all of us. She is the reassurance that no matter what is going on in your life, there is always someone there for you who is prepared to cheer you up and cheer you on. They were how God made his love for us manifest to the world. As their children, we are bound to obey and honor them because doing so will bring glory to God, and because their hearts are filled with the type of love that spills into ours. Let us never forget that the way we treat our parents, whether out of respect or disrespect, brings with it either a blessing or a curse. From this point forward, you should always consider what you want between leading a long and happy life or dying a horrible death.
